Kevin Durant has always been a lethal shooter but on one night in 2016, he played the role of chase-down blocker.
After a Phoenix Suns rebound, Guard Devin Booker leaked out towards the rim for a cross-court pass. In one-motion, Booker took two steps and went up for what he thought was an easy two-handed dunk. Lurking behind him was the Easy Money Sniper, Kevin Durant who made up the distance quickly. Durant’s long right arm stretched to get the emphatic block from behind. The force had the rock carom back to the three point line, where Steph Curry collected the rebound. Steph then breezed his way to the opposite side of the court for a long three-point shot that drifted through the net.
The sneakers Kevin Durant laced up for this highlight was the Nike KD 9. This model featured Flyknit for the first time in Durant’s sneaker line, utilizing a sock-like fit for soft comfort. The other standout feature is the flexible, full-length Zoom Air that gave the wearer a bounce to their step.
Durant rocked a player exclusive yellow KD 9 for this moment, which never released to the public.
You can find other colorways of the Nike KD 9 at StockX, Flight Club, Stadium Goods, and GOAT.
