Even as one of the most seasoned veterans ever, Vince Carter still had something in his bag of tricks to fool the youngins’.
On this play against the Washington Wizards, VC received the rock in the corner in transition. Carter was basically wide open, with a frantic Davis Bertans trying to close out. The Atlanta Hawks legend feigned a shot with a pump fake, forcing Bertans to slip and slide past Carter. A simple step to his right was all Vince needed to regain space on the three-pointer. Even the road arena in DC had to respect the ankle-breaker, with the Capital One Arena giving VC an applause after the ball went through the net.
The sneaker Vince rocked for this moment was his classic Nike Shox BB4. The Shox pillar technology provides shock absorption to the wearer for solid impact protection. A TPU plate above the pillars acted as stabilizer for the foam pillars, with varying density foam used to create a bouncy sensation. This was famously used in the series of “boing” ads led by Vince for the Shox BB4.
Carter’s red and volt colorway isn’t currently available. You can find other classic colorways of the Nike Shox BB4 at StockX, GOAT, and Flight Club.
